1. Acceptance of Terms
By creating an account on Baruch Econ & Finance Studio (the "Service") you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not create an account. By creating an account you affirm that you are at least 18 years of age, or that you are accessing the Service under the supervision of a responsible adult.
2. Description of the Service
Baruch Econ & Finance Studio provides interactive lessons, simulations, and quizzes in undergraduate economics and finance. Content is offered as an educational supplement. Nothing on the Service constitutes investment, legal, tax, accounting, or other professional advice.
3. Your account
- You are responsible for the security of your password.
- You may not share your account or use someone else's account.
- We may suspend or terminate accounts that abuse the Service, attempt to circumvent access controls, or violate applicable law.
- You may delete your account at any time from your dashboard; deletion is irreversible and removes all your records within 30 days, with the exception of audit-log entries retained under FERPA § 99.32.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Submit answers on behalf of another person, or solicit someone else to submit answers on your behalf.
- Scrape, mirror, or systematically download content without written permission.
- Probe, scan, or attempt to penetrate the Service's infrastructure.
- Upload content that violates the rights of others, including intellectual-property and privacy rights.
5. Academic integrity
Quiz attempts are recorded and may be reviewed by your instructor under the FERPA-aligned terms described in the Privacy Policy. If you are using the Service as part of a credit-bearing course, the academic-integrity policies of your institution apply in addition to these Terms.
6. FERPA notice and non-waiver
Where Baruch Econ & Finance Studio is acting as a school official under the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (20 U.S.C. § 1232g; 34 CFR Part 99), it operates under the direct control of the contracting institution and the no-redisclosure terms of the applicable Data Privacy Agreement.
Nothing in these Terms requires or permits you to waive any right granted to you by FERPA, by other applicable student-privacy law, or by any institutional policy that supplements them. Any clause or provision that purports to do so is void and severable from the remainder of these Terms.
7. Intellectual property
Lesson content, visualizations, and source code are made available under the MIT License (see LICENSE). Textbook material referenced in lessons remains the copyright of its original publishers and is not redistributed by the Service.
8. No warranty
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any information will be accurate or current.
9. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT WILL ECON STUDIO OR ITS CONTRIBUTORS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or limitations on liability, so the above limitations may not apply to you.
10. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms shall be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in New York County, New York, except that you may file claims in small-claims court in your county of residence where applicable.
11. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. Material changes will be announced on the Service at least 30 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after that date constitutes acceptance.
12. Contact
Questions about these Terms may be sent to legal@example.com.
